Being an underdog foster parent
Underdogs have been dealt an unfair hand in life. Sometimes, they've been on the street, or they've spent way too long in a shelter. They don't have serious health issues, and although they may be impolite and have little training, they are not aggressive. What they need is foster parents who are willing to learn a lot about helping an Underdog maximize his or her superpowers so a forever home can be found.
Foster parents don't have to be perfect (thank goodness!) but they do have to be willing to listen, to learn, to participate with the Underdog in classes, and to communicate often with the Underdog Godparent (the foster coordinator) who will help puzzle out what is needed to make it all work. Being a foster parent will be one of the most rewarding things you ever do, you will get to interact with a really great bunch of people and canines, and you will learn so much that it will seem your head may explode!
